The Canadian Greenhouse Conference is a two day event, held in Hall 5 at the Toronto International Centre October 6-7, 2010. The 2010 conference consists of a dynamic speaker schedule, a noteworthy trade show and innovative product displays geared towards growers, greenhouse suppliers and patrons. The conference also features a career corner sponsored by Niagara Research. Employers will have the opportunity to network with potential employees. This will be a great event for horticulture students and graduates to check out the current employment opportunities available in the industry.

Two Niagara research students have the opportunity to present their research project findings to hundreds of growers and greenhouse suppliers at the 2010 Canadian Greenhouse Conference. Amy Peterson is a former research employee and graduate of Niagara College Greenhouse Technician Program. Peterson will discuss her research involving Nematodes and Mites entitled “Nematodes vs. Mites for Fungus Gnats: Is There a Winner?”. Joanna VanLuttikhuizen will also be presenting her research findings at the 2010 conference. Her research involves the study of green roofs and her project is entitled “Do Green Roofs Need Irrigation”
