Development and Knowledge Transfer"
Rachel Brown | Project Clerk
Rachel Brown is Niagara Research’s project clerk, helping oversee the administration of applied research projects at Niagara College.
Rachel has been a member of the Research and Innovation department since 2007, and her roles and responsibilities include managing project funding and resource allocation as well as results and progress reporting.
She began working with Niagara Research as a student assistant while taking the college’s Business Administration – Operations Management (Co-op) program. After successfully completing her program’s co-op placement with Niagara Research, she joined the department as an assistant before becoming the project clerk.
Rachel’s introduction to applied research came when she began at the department, and during her time here her appreciation of the value of research projects for students has grown exponentially. Working with students is one of Rachel’s favourite parts of her job.
“I really see the value of course-based research projects for students, as well as projects that link students directly with industry partners,” she said. “It’s something that adds a lot of value to their academic studies.”
A resident of Niagara since 1997, Rachel’s interests include music, travelling and spending time with her daughter.
