Rick Goertz | Computer Programming & Web Technology & Design
With a wealth of experience in computer programming and website design, Rick Goertz has been an invaluable contributor to Niagara Research.
Rick, a professor in Niagara College’s Computer Programmer, Computer Programmer Analyst and Video Game Design programs, has taken on a faculty lead position for several Niagara Research projects. His specializations include software development, computer programming and system design.
A current project Goertz is involved with is a website revamp and business model update for a wine touring company in Niagara. He is also helping lending a hand to a kiosk project that will be similar to blood pressure tests at pharmacies.
That project includes investigating the platforms and system that will be most efficient, effective and economical to roll out the kiosks across a large market area, said Goertz, who added that the best part of working on research projects is the entrepreneurial aspect.
Goertz holds a bachelor of science degree in education from Brock University. He co-founded a video game development company in St. Catharines, playing an integral role in the launch of several video game titles.
He also spent time working in the United States, developing emergency response software that was used in several communities, including Buffalo. He has taught at Niagara College for the past 10 years.
