In recent years, the demand for HR professionals who can provide the specialized services required by the competitive demands of a sophisticated workforce has increased significantly. These professionals must also have the knowledge and expertise to operate according to the international standards set out in today’s global environment.

Global competition now recognizes human capital as the most important asset of any organization. The proper deployment and maintenance of a skilled workforce is widely acknowledged as the primary determining factor in the competitive advantage of any world-class economy.


Graduate Certificate Bursary

A $750 bursary is available to eligible students who are enrolled full-time in a Graduate Certificate Program. When applying for the bursary, you must complete a basic application form detailing your current financial status.

Admission Requirements

Minimum Admission Requirements for 2010-11 (OSS):

  • College Diploma or University Degree, preferably in a related area of study (as determined by the College), OR an acceptable combination of related work experience and post-secondary education (as determined by the College). AND
  • Proof of English proficiency.

Recommended Courses and/or Recommended Skills (Not Required for Admission):

  • Completion of a post-secondary accounting course prior to entrance to the program is strongly recommended. Post-secondary mathematics, English and computer literacy courses are also recommended.

Selection & Ranking Process:

  • A test and/or portfolio may be required.

Holly has over fifteen years of progressive experience in both the public and private sectors including working in the Strategic Human Resources Office of the Ministry of Transportation and as the Organizational Development and Performance Manager and Associate H.R. Manager with Kraft Foods North America.

Holly joined Niagara College as a full-time professor in the fall of 2003 after teaching part-time in the day program and with the Continuing Education department for several years.

Holly completed her Doctorate of Education specializing in leadership and leadership development at the University of Toronto (OISE). She received her M.A., H.B.A., B. Ed., and Certificate of Teaching and Learning in Adult Education from Brock University.
