This third-level course will introduce students to frequently used vocabulary and expressions appropriate for interactions with persons in the community. Expressions necessary for dialogue with hair stylists, bank staff, shop clerks, restaurant servers, etc., will be presented. Students will be introduced to grammatical structures that build on those learned in previous phases. The cultures of a variety of Hispanic communities will be discussed further. Opportunities will be provided to continue practicing skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. Success in this course will be enhanced if students have acquired the knowledge and skills taught in LANG 1009 (Spanish - Level II).
