Digital Photography - Imaging and Workflow
Reinforcing the skills introduced in JOUR1040, this course continues to look at the technology involved in digital imaging and photography workflow. The student will learn more about digital imaging from the pixel level - exploring the camera's imaging controls through a series of classes and shooting workshops, as well as imaging workflow as it pertains to photography. Students will investigate the process of image capture, importing, cataloguing, developing, editing, sharing and publishing in print and on the web. A variety of software applications will be reviewed with a focus on Adobe Photoshop CS6 for editing and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for workflow. Additional topics include device calibration and setting up an imaging studio. NOTE: Students are responsible for supplying their own digital SRL camera, lens, and owner's manual and bringing spare batteries or a battery charger to each class.
