Geological Disasters

This course studies the events, the causes and the effects of some of the world's greatest natural or geological disasters. This course is directed towards those individuals, whether pursuing other studies in Geology or not, who have an interest in the phenomena of geological disasters. The course examines disasters associated with earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, volcanoes, weather, hurricanes, floods, fires, extinctions and impacts from space. It is designed both as an interest course and as a geology course. It is designed to complement studies in Geology or Geotechnology or to supplement studies in other fields such as geography, journalism, general science, history and others.
