Developmental Disabilities and Sexuality
Sexuality and social relationships are fundamental rights and a natural aspect of life which needs to be acknowledged and respected regardless of disability. This course will provide students with a range of topics to include sexuality education, social skills, sexual abuse detection and prevention, sexual rights, challenging sexual behaviours, and policies and procedures. Students will be able to identify and understand the complex issues individuals with intellectual disabilities experience in their daily lives in terms of sexuality, relationships and social skills. The course is designed to give students practical information which can easily be applied into one's work settings.
