Course Code: BREW1002C

In this course, our brew experts will highlight all the elements involved in producing a wonderful product. This course will create an in-depth discussion regarding the following topics: YEAST & YEAST TYPES - Main types of yeast (ale, lager, wild, etc.); FERMENTATION PROCESS - Discuss metabolical fermentation process and how alcohol and CO2 are produced, discuss impacts when brewers implement different factors; MATURATION - Flavour maturation, discuss secondary fermentation, investigate the factors of time, temperature, vessel, beer styles & some preferred options; FILTRATION - Types of filters available - DE, Sterile, Cartridge, Centrifuge, basic set up steps for any filtration method; FINISHING - What is carbonation?, Carbonation process flow. The course will also involve a sensory component discussing taste, smell, mouth feel & appearance. NOTE: This course is one of five modules included in Brew Academy program.
