Concepts of Human Biology
This course is a study of human biology as it relates to cells, tissues and genetics. Cell structure, function and division (mitosis and meiosis) will be discussed as a basis for exploring the biological significance of organelles, DNA, RNA and the transference of traits from one generation to the next. The micro and macroscopic anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system will also be examined. Weekly formal labs reinforce scientific concepts and relationships discussed in lecture through the use of microscopy, laboratory experiments, and biotechnology.
