Niagara Industry Innovation Centre
- 5,000 sq. ft. of completely open, flexible space that can be re-configured for individual research and development projects. Large bay doors on one side will enable equipment and supplies from companies to be brought in on a temporary basis. Flexible walls and reinforced flooring will enable research from the testing of new materials to the use of photonic technologies to detect flaws in structures.
- Additional 15,000 sq. ft. for the following labs:
- Photonics and laser research labs
- Integrated Manufacturing research lab
- Energy Innovation and Solar Power Efficiency research lab
Niagara Athletic Centre and Centre of Excellence in Fitness and Court Sport
- 23,500 sq. ft. triple gymnasium with spectator seating for 3,000 to 5,000 people and international tournament capabilities in court sports;
- Fitness centre with exercise/cardio equipment for community and student use;
- Multipurpose fitness rooms for cardio, step and spin bikes;
- Walking tracks;
- Sport therapy room with equipment for treating athletes;
- Varsity and general change rooms for men and women;
- Reception/control centre;
- Assessment facilities and services for all ages for fitness;
- Offices for faculty, staff, and coaches, and referees’ room;
- Storage space;
- Partial green roof for increased sustainability and water management.
