Phishing Attempt – June 21 2017

ITS has received reports of malicious/phishing emails being sent to various college staff.

The phishing email claims to be from TD and claims to be a “TD Commercial Banking”.

Please DO NOT click on any links or open any attachments! 

Anyone receiving an email with the subject looking similar to “TD Commercial Banking Alert – Service Synchronization Required!” or from “Web Business Banking News <commercial.management@td.com>” or other similarly suspicious emails, are asked to forward them to ITSHELPDESK@niagaracollege.ca as an attachment and delete the email immediately.  Please always practice safe computing – when in doubt ask before you click, or reply.

TD Bank Phishing Email Example:

Phishing Attempt – June 14 2017

ITS has received reports of malicious/phishing emails being sent to various college staff.  The phishing email claims to be from RBC and contain information pertaining to “RBC Express 2017 User Access Agreement Documentation”.

Please DO NOT click on any links or open any attachments! 

Anyone receiving an email with the subject looking similar to “RBC Express 2017” or from “business.banking@rbcbanking.com” other similarly suspicious emails, are asked to forward them to ITSHELPDESK@niagaracollege.ca as an attachment and delete the email immediately.  Please always practice safe computing – when in doubt ask before you click, or reply.

Phishing Attempt – June 12 2017

ITS has received reports of Phishing emails being sent to various college staff.  The Phishing email claims to be coming from “XXXXXX@cicd99.edustating that we are upgrading the Microsoft exchange mailbox system and to validate your e-mail.

Anyone receiving an email with the subject looking similar to FACULTY/STAFF” or other similarly suspicious emails are asked to forward them to ITSHELPDESK@niagaracollege.ca and delete the email immediately.  Please always practice safe computing – when in doubt ask before you click, or reply.
