CFWI welcomes Adrian Popowycz as Brewmaster professor

Adrian Popowycz began his role as NC Brewmaster professor in August 2017.

A message from CFWI dean Craig Youdale:

It is with great excitement that I introduce to you the newest member of CFWI and our Brewmaster program, professor Adrian Popowycz.

Adrian comes to us with over 25 years of experience with some impressive credentials. He boasts a master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, and bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, from the University of Montreal. He also graduated from the VLB Technical Brewing school in Berlin which is considered a leader in the world of brewing education.

In his career, he has worked in various labs and technical positions including brewmaster at Black Oak, Great Lakes and currently at Cool Brewing. He is a leader in Canada in technical brewing knowledge and has been chair of the Technical Committee for the Ontario Craft Brewing Association for the past 11 years. He is also the chair of our own Professional Advisory Committee for our brewing program and is very involved in the progress of our program of the past few years.

Adrian Popowycz began his role as brewmaster professor on August 14.
