Message from Steve Hudson, Vice President, Academic and Learner Services:

As previously announced, Dean Misheck Mwaba will be leaving the College in early September, and we are initiating the process to select a permanent appointment. While this process is underway, I am pleased to announce that Tony Thoma has agreed to take on the appointment as interim dean – Media, Trades and Technology. In order to provide transition and support a smooth start to the term, Tony will be starting on August 21.

Tony was dean of Engineering Technology, Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship at Mohawk College from 2009 until 2016. He worked extensively with McMaster University on the joint Bachelor of Technology degree programs, supported the development of the Additive Manufacturing Resource Center and also won the Student Association Award of Excellence.

Prior to joining Mohawk College, Tony worked for a number of years with various industrial companies in engineering and management capacities.Tony is a professional engineer, who graduated from McMaster University, and subsequently completed both an undergraduate degree in Business Administration at Brock and Masters in Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario.

Please join me in welcoming Tony to the College.
