When it comes to the next generation of business leaders, NC’s Sarah Scott is being celebrated among Niagara’s best.
Scott, who is the manager of Dining Operations at the CFWI, a part-time instructor for the Hotel and Restaurant Management program as well as a graduate of the same program, was honoured with a 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Award.
More than 110 people were nominated for this year’s awards. Hosted by the Business Link Media Group, the annual awards ceremony recognize business leaders under the age of 40 who consistently make their mark in business and contribute regularly to their respective communities. This year’s awards gala drew was held on May 11 at the Holiday Inn and Suites Parkway in St. Catharines.
Scott was nominated by her colleagues at the CFWI, where she has worked since 2005. She was applauded for her leadership in the hospitality industry; her energy, passion and dedication to her work, those she works with and her students; as well as her commitment to the community, and the time and resources she has dedicated to various charities and events throughout the region.
Scott said she was honoured to represent the College as a recipient of this year’s award.
“Being nominated by my peers at CFWI, is a true honour, and I am thrilled to be a recipient of this year’s award,” she said. “I strive to be a leader and ambassador for our industry, and I am honoured that my peers recognized my dedication to our team, my passion for hospitality and my commitment to the community.”
This year’s 40 Under 40 award recipients also included NC Hairstyling prof Marilyn Vendittelli, for her work at Industry Hair and Esthetics; and former NCSAC president and NC grad Shane Malcolm, who is currently executive director of Leadership Niagara.
