To accommodate a major electrical upgrade at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus, a complete power shut down will occur at the campus from the evening of June 28 through to July 2. During this time, there will be no access to the main campus building, and all classes and activities will be cancelled.
The work has been scheduled during a break week and in the lead-up to a long weekend to minimize disruption (Friday, June 30 is a statutory holiday). However, the closure will include Thursday, June 29, which is a regular work day. Individual managers at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus will make alternative arrangements for their teams who are scheduled to work on that day, and will share these plans within their departments in advance of the closure.
We are currently reviewing options for the operation of the learning enterprises during the closure, and we will share this information as it becomes available.
Further updates will be provided prior to June 29.
The electrical upgrade is part of the $65 million campus redevelopment project at the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses that is modernizing learning environments and enhancing our students’ experience. Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding as we complete these major construction projects.
