Students from the College’s School of Business and Management Studies, as well as the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Sport are revving up for the second annual Entrepreneurship Challenge,
The event will be held on Thursday, April 20 from 4:30-8 p.m. at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus (Room W111).
Seven teams will from five different programs will be participating in the competition, from the Bachelor of Applied Business and Hospitality (defending champions), Professional Golf Management, Sales and Marketing , Sport Management, and Tourism Management.
Teams will have 15 minutes to present their business idea followed by 10 minutes for a question-and-answer period from the judges.
“The goal of the competition is to celebrate our student entrepreneurs by showcasing their creativity and understanding of what it takes to start a small business,” said faculty lead for the event Grant Fraser, who is a Professional Golf Management professor. “Students have been working on their business plans this semester.”
Participants will have an opportunity to win $1,500 in prizes: $750 for first, $500 for second, $250 for third.
