Student winners announced at Chief McGuire Community Policing event

On December 5, The School of Justice Studies along with Niagara Regional Police Services hosted the Chief Jeffrey McGuire Community Policing event at Niagara College’s Welland Campus.

Students in the Advanced Law Enforcement and Investigations Program partnered with the NRPS to complete projects aimed at improving the quality of life in selected neighbourhoods in the Niagara region. The presentations focused on problem solving, a community profile, crime analysis, crime prevention through an environmental design audit, as well as develop possible solutions and outcomes.

Students were judged by members of NRPS including Chief McGuire, as well as a local politician and an NC administrator. Congratulations to Division 3 for winning Niagara Regional Chief Jeffrey McGuire Community Policing Award. Winners included  Kate Bailey, Nicole Holland, Raquel Oliveria, Pedro Stockler, and McKenzie Westcott.
