It was a vintage year for school spirit at the Niagara Wine Festival.
Volunteers poured in to participate in the Meridian Grand Parade, held on September 24 in downtown St. Catharines.
Lesley Calvin, manager of Student Engagement, Academic Advisement and Career Services estimated that about 150 people from NC participated in the parade.
“By far, it was our largest turn out yet. The weather was beautiful, the student energy was palpable, and the school spirit was felt by everyone,” said Calvin. “Adding to the amazing feeling was the numerous folks along the parade route proudly shouting out ‘I went to Niagara College’ or ‘I go to Niagara College’ as the float went by them. Simply put it was a wonderful day for all.”
In addition to the College’s involvement in the parade, the College was well represented at the festivities in Montebello Park, with staff and students working in the Harvest Lounge, at the NC Teaching Winery booth and the Bench-on-the-Go food truck.
