Lori Ravensborg joins NC as full-time Acting for Film and Television professor.

A message from Linda Roote, associate dean, School of Media Studies:

We are delighted to announce that two new faculty will be joining the School of Media Studies this fall: Kevin Gordon and Lori Ravensborg.

Lori Ravensborg joins the Acting for Film and Television program as a full-time professor. Lori holds a Master of Arts in Directing for Film and Television from Charles Sturt University (Australia), a Theatre Conservatory Diploma from the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre (New York City) and a Theatre Studies Diploma (Red Deer College). She recently taught at Centennial College and at The Toronto Film School and just finished a curriculum development project for Red Deer College’s acting degree program where she taught for several years.

Professionally, Lori started work as an actor in the mid-90s. She is a long standing member of ACTRA and CAEA and has appeared in many television, theatre and film productions. While completing her master’s degree, Lori branched out into producing and directing. Her short film The Long Road was an official selection of the Oceanside International Film Festival, was nominated for an Alberta Rosie award at the AMPIA’s and won a Rising Star award at the Canada International Film Festival.

This fall, Lori will be integrating The Meisner Technique into the acting program. We expect this to be of significant benefit to our acting students.

Please join me in welcoming Lori to her new role.
