Niagara College is ready to roll out the welcome mat for its neighbours in Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake.
On Sunday, Sept. 16., from noon until 3 p.m., the College will host its annual Community Barbecue at both campuses.
The event aims to bring the community and College students together in a family-friendly, social setting to kick-start the academic year.
At the Welland Campus, a free barbecue hosted by the Student Administrative Council (SAC) will be held on the front lawn. The event will also feature a classic car show, a meet and greet with the Ice Dogs cheerleaders, and various vendors.
The event at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus will feature a free barbecue hosted by SAC, as well as musical entertainment by local cover band Mosaik, a jump and bounce obstacle course for children, and vendor booths. The NC Teaching Winery, NC Teaching Brewery and Greenhouse will also be open.
Niagara College’s Community Barbecue concludes an exciting two weeks of Orientation activities at the College which welcomed a record number of first-year students this fall. In addition to a carnival, tours, information sessions, and various social events, Orientation also included the successful first-ever Niagara College Night held at the Niagara Food Festival on Sept. 7.
