You can help save a life today

Take a few minutes today and help save someone’s life.

Today, a One Match registration day will be held at Niagara College’s Welland campus in honour of Welland resident Lisa Harris. Harris requires a stem cell transplant to help treat her was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

Like most patients (less than 25% of patients find compatible donors within their family), she is relying on outside donations.  Lisa’s story was recently featured in The Tribune. Read it here.

They are urgently seeking men between the ages of 17 to 35, who have the best chance of having healthy stem cells.

Visit One Match, Canadian Blood Services’ stem cell and marrow network, at NC today, anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. (near the cafeteria).  Register to become a potential stem cell donor. A swab of the inside of your cheek will determine if you are a match!

Potential donors can sign up at NC. Those unable to attend today may contact One Match at www.onematch.ca or  1-888-2-DONATE (6283).
