Human Resources Department Security Information Niagara College Security Services works in partnership with many internal College departments and several external agencies in order to maintain a safe, secure environment for the College community. The responsibilities of Niagara College Security Services include crime prevention through variable patrols; incident response and investigation; and intrusion, personal, and equipment alarm monitoring; medical emergency response; and customer service. All security officers are aware of the College’s commitment to the principles of the Human Rights Code, which include the recognition of the dignity and worth of every person. Equally significant is the dedication to respecting, understanding and interacting within Niagara College’s diverse population. Security officers are employees of Group 4 Securicor and are hired by the College on a contractual basis. They are required to obtain the Certified Protection Officer designation within three months of their start date. Niagara College Security Services are institutional members of IACLEA (International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators) and OACUSA (Ontario Association of College and University Security Administrators). |
