Damian Goulbourne

Damian has been employed as a professor at Niagara College in the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Administration, since 1999.

From December 2014 to May 2016, he was seconded part-time to the president’s office to provide insight on enhancing our student entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities along with assessing opportunities to strengthen the College’s role in the economic development of the Niagara region. Recently, he has lead his students to develop and launch two smartphone App’s the first in cooperation with the Ontario Wine Council of Ontario and the second for the Niagara Parks Commission. His focus is not limited to local projects as on behalf of the college, he completed tourism development projects in India, Ecuador, Argentina, Chile and South Africa.  From 2003 to 2010 he served the City of Welland as Mayor and Niagara Regional Councilor yet continued to teach on a part-time basis at Niagara College. During that time he sat on the Niagara Economic Development Corporation, Niagara Peninsula Conservation, the Niagara/Hamilton Waste Management Steering Committee, Niagara Economic Development Corporation, Welland Hydro, Welland Library, and Welland Recreational Canal Corporation. He is currently a member of the board of the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital and Niagara Community Foundation and began both in 2011.
