Niagara College is pleased to advise our students that the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities has allocated funding for the INDIGENOUS STUDENT BURSARY as part of the Ministry’s new Indigenous post-secondary education funding approach. The bursary provides direct support to Indigenous students with financial need to aid in their participation in post-secondary education and training.

Ontario First Generation Bursary

Niagara College is pleased to announce that the Government of Ontario has once again allocated funding to support our first generation students through the Ministry’s Access and Opportunities Strategy. A first generation student is an individual whose parents have not attended post-secondary studies. Siblings may have attended post-secondary studies.

Len Yust Memorial Bursary

Len Yust (1952-2014) was a dedicated conservationist, passionate about the preservation and restoration of Ontario’s cold water resources. He was renowned as a fly angler whose pursuit of trout was closely aligned with his professional interest in the preservation of their delicate environment. The director of operations in Eastern Canada with Trout Unlimited Canada for eight years, he was responsible for the establishment of many chapters of that organization throughout Ontario, including the Niagara Chapter. This bursary was established in his memory to help a new generation of professional conservationists to continue the work he cared so deeply about.

Les Marmitons of Niagara Bursary

Les Marmitons have been very fortunate to have developed a strong working relationship with Niagara College. The College is home to the Niagara Culinary Institute, where we hold our cooking events, which is truly a world-class culinary school. It is also the home of the Niagara College Teaching Winery, which provides a superb learning environment while producing some of the best wines in Canada. By supporting students in both the culinary and Winery/Viticulture programs through our bursary fund, we have been able to give something back to the College and our community. We look forward to continuing a long and mutually beneficial association between Les Marmitons and Niagara College.

How do I apply for these awards?

Awards listed in the “Awards by School” tab, are organized by school of study. The majority of awards posted here are Foundation Awards which are funded by donors to the Niagara College Foundation. Awards are generally posted in July for students starting or returning to studies in September and in December for students starting studies in January. Awards in the “Spotlight” tab are awards that become available during the academic year and require special attention. External awards are awards offered by 3rd parties; the application process is through them, and not Niagara College.

  1. Use the “Filter Awards” options below to only show the awards that you’d like to see. Awards are displayed in the table below. We strongly urge you to filter by Student Type and then to also filter by School (checking both the School of Study you are enrolled in and the Any School (Non-Program Specific Awards) option to view all awards you may be eligible for.
  2. Fill out and submit the Online Budget Form. You only need to fill out the budget form once, even if you are applying for multiple awards. We suggest that all students fill out and submit the budget form, if it is available; you will automatically be considered for a number of financial need awards.
  3. If an award requires an application form, it will be listed. Print and complete the award’s application form – you must apply to each award separately. If any other documents are required attach these to the application form(s). Photocopies of required documentation are acceptable.
  4. Please submit all applications to the Financial Aid Office at either the Welland or Niagara-on-the-Lake campus. Applications can be dropped off in-person or mailed to the following address:
