Link connects Wetland Ridge, Bruce Trails A ceremony was held October 1 to mark the creation of a link between the Wetland Ridge Trail and the Bruce Trail.
Niagara College President Dan Patterson, left and Keith Rae, President of the Niagara Bruce Trail Club, enjoy a walk along the Wetland Ridge Trail following a ceremony that marked the creation of a new link between the two trails. The link was created by student in the College’s Centre for Environmental Training, which includes programs such as Ecosystem Restoration, Environmental Technician, and Environmental Management and Assessment. Assisting students were members of the Niagara Bruce Trail Club. The Wetland Ridge Trail encircles 18 acres of wetland lagoons and runs adjacent to the Niagara College vineyards and directly along side the Niagara Escarpment. Students helped develop the trail through projects such as habitat enhancement, ecological monitoring, hydrology and water monitoring and the planting of native species.
