Pre-Admission Requirements

As part of the admissions process, some programs have pre-admission requirements.

We understand from your application that you are currently residing out of province. Admission decisions for competitive programs are rendered based on the Binding Policy Directive from the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development, which states the following:

Applicants are to be accepted into oversubscribed competitive programs according to the following order of preference:

  1. residents of Ontario
  2. residents of provinces and territories in Canada
  3. other applicants

Based on applications received to date, the following programs are potentially competitive for the 2018-2019 academic year:

  • Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Advanced Law Enforcement and Investigations
  • Artisan Distilling
  • Baking and Pastry Arts
  • Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management
  • Broadcasting – Radio/Television/Film
  • Child and Youth Care
  • Commercial Cannabis Production
  • Community Integration through Co-operative Education (CICE)
  • Dental Hygiene
  • Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant
  • Paramedic
  • Practical Nursing
  • Practical Nursing – Alternative Delivery
  • Social Service Worker
  • Sport Management

If you are not a resident of Ontario, we still welcome your participation in the admissions process for these programs, including any testing that may be required. Should there be enough qualified Ontario residents to fill the program, your application will be considered for a waiting list

In order to determine if you meet eligibility as an Ontario resident, please contact our office as soon as possible. We will be pleased to provide details regarding the required documentation.
