The Niagara College Joint Health and Safety Committee is a group of committed individuals working together to safeguard our community.
Their mission is to identify and report health and safety problems; recommend solutions to those problems; promote health and safety awareness; and provide health and safety resources to the community at large. The Committee has representatives from the support staff, faculty and administration.
For more information, including meeting minutes, safety tips and more, please visit jhsc.niagaracollege.ca.
One of the responsibilities of the Joint Health and Safety Committee is the inspection of the work site on a monthly basis. If the work site is large, small sections may be inspected as determined by the JHSC.
Report a safety concern
When a worker identifies a potential health or safety hazard it should be immediately reported to his or her supervisor. You may send a copy of your concern to the Health and Safety Co-Chairs.
Accidents and incidents
Health and safety accidents, incidents and near misses should be reported to the Environmental Health and Safety Department (not the JHSC) as soon as possible.
