Course Description:
This course is an introduction to microelectronics technology with an emphasis on Surface Mount Technology (SMT). The student will learn the fundamentals of how this technology is implemented. The course will cover topics from land pattern design to completed assemblies. The students will have the opportunity to work in the Niagara College microelectronics lab facilities for the lab portion of the course. Other microelectronics packaging technologies that utilize SMT components will also be explored.
