Description

This course will investigate the fascinating world of children 30 months to 6 years of age in the context of early learning and care environments. You will be introduced to the foundational ideas of play-based learning and developmentally appropriate practice; to some of the key individuals influencing current beliefs in ECE and education; and to the many roles of an Early Childhood Educator in play-based learning environments. You will learn about the Child Care and Early Years Act and the Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT) document. You will develop an understanding of various curriculum models including Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, Montessori, and High Scope.
