Golf is a sport enjoyed by millions of Canadians. As demand grows, so does the need for qualified golf professionals. This program combines the excitement of golf with the challenge of business.

Upon completion of additional Canadian Professional Golfers Association (CPGA) requirements, graduates find employment as:

  • Assistant professionals
  • Associate professionals
  • Director of golf
  • Food and beverage managers
  • Golf club general managers
  • Head professionals
  • Teaching professionals
  • Tournament director

Graduates can also pursue careers in the retail sector as sales representatives, store managers, or working for equipment manufacturers.

Admission Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, OR 19 years of age or older as of the first day of classes, with no OSSD or equivalent (Mature Student) including the following required courses:
    • English - any Grade 12 (C) or (U), or equivalent.

Recommended Courses and/or Recommended Skills (Not Required for Admission):

  • Mathematics - any Grade 12 (C) or (U).

Selection and Ranking Process:

  • For competitive programs (the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of available places), selection will be based on the highest senior level final grade available at the time of ranking. Mid-term grades are not used for ranking purposes.
  • Testing or other supplemental evaluation may be required.

Note:

  • Secondary School grades from co-op courses and half credit courses are not considered.

Transportation:

  • Students are responsible for their own transportation in order to complete work placement requirements. Niagara cannot guarantee placements that are readily accessible by public transportation. Students are responsible for all costs connected with such transportation.

 

Educational Pathways

Niagara College has articulated agreements providing students with degree completion and credit transfer opportunities with many other colleges and universities.
