  • Courses required to write the National Knowledge Examination (NKE) required for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation must have an overall average of 70, with no marks below 65.
    Please note: As of January 1, 2011, CHRP Candidates - those who have passed the NKE - will require a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university to register for the National Professional Practice Assessment (NPPA) and qualify for the CHRP designation. In some provinces, the degree requirement varies, or additional requirements may be applicable.
  • Many graduates find work through co-op placements or contacts made while working on projects

Admission Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, OR 19 years of age or older as of the first day of classes, with no OSSD or equivalent (Mature Student) including the following required courses:
    • English - any Grade 12 (C) or (U), or equivalent.

Recommended Courses and/or Recommended Skills (Not Required for Admission):

  • Mathematics - any Grade 12 (C) or (U).

Selection and Ranking Process:

  • For competitive programs (the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of available places), selection will be based on the highest senior level final grade available at the time of ranking. Mid-term grades are not used for ranking purposes.
  • Testing or other supplemental evaluation may be required.

Note:

  • Secondary School grades from co-op courses and half credit courses are not considered.

Transportation:

  • Students are responsible for their own transportation in order to complete work placement requirements. Niagara cannot guarantee placements that are readily accessible by public transportation. Students are responsible for all costs connected with such transportation.

Niagara College has articulated agreements providing students with degree completion and credit transfer opportunities with many other colleges and universities.
