This Apprenticeship Program begins in September in each year. There is no Winter intake.

Career Opportunities

In machining, precision is everything. Metal parts and components must be cut, shaped and finished to perfection. This program will prepare you for success in general machining, a trade upon which almost all areas of manufacturing rely.

Upon completion of your general machinist apprenticeship, you can seek provincial certification and pursue employment in diverse settings, from machine shop firms to primary steel production facilities to automobile manufacturing plants. Potential job titles include:

  • Computerized numeric control machinist/operator
  • General Machinist
  • Machine Repair

Admission Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or Grade 12 equivalency, AND
  • Employment in the trade.
