Library Cards and Borrowing
- Your Niagara College Student Identification Card acts as your Library Card. Please bring it with you when you visit the Libraries. You may borrow circulating books, computer discs/software, videocassettes, DVDs, reserve materials, feature films, paperbacks and magazines.
- Students may take out up to 10 titles at a time. A maximum of 2 course reserves or 2 videos or DVDs at a time, please.
- If you have not acquired your student card, please visit the Niagara College Photo ID Submission Card System webpage.
Access to On-line Resources
- You have access to the Library Catalogue. No login is required.
- You also have access to the Research Databases. You can Search by Subject or Search by Database.
- Enter your Blackboard Login I.D. and Password to authenticate that you are a valid user.
Booking Multimedia
- Come to the Circulation Desk of your Campus Library to talk to a staff member about booking equipment. We’ll help you figure out what you need for your presentation or project.
- Students can now book multimedia on-line using our Multimedia Booking Form.
- What you’ll need: name, student number, phone number, email address and the dates you’ll be using the equipment.
- We ask that you show a valid Niagara College ID card when reserving and borrowing.
Please note:
Continuing Education students may book equipment for class presentations through their Instructor.
Continuing Education Students (only those in non-credit courses)
Library Cards and Borrowing
- To obtain a Library Card, come to the Circulation Desk with your receipt from CE that indicates proof of payment and registration. There is no fee for the Library Card. Cards are valid for one year from date of issue and may be renewed if there are no outstanding fines. Please bring your card with you to borrow materials
- You may have 5 titles checked out on your card at any one time. Materials include books, paperbacks, magazines and computer discs/software. DVDs and videos needed for class presentations may be booked for you by your CE instructor.
Renewals
- You may renew circulating books, computer discs/software, and audiocassettes 1 time. An item cannot be renewed if there is someone waiting for it
- Items may be renewed in person, over the phone or online. If you’d like to renew an overdue item, you must come into the Library and pay the late fee at the time of renewal.
Off-Campus Access to Online Resources
- You have off-campus access to the Library Catalogue. No login is required
- Due to licensing agreements between the College and our database vendors, you do not have off-campus access to the Research Databases to which the Library subscribes. We do have public access computers in the Library that you may use to search our databases.
