Want to Become a
2012 NC Orientation Leader?
What You'll Do:
An Orientation Leader (OL) conveys information to new students about Niagara College and all we have to offer. The OL will assist with all Orientation events, and will inform new students of all the services available to them to achieve success. The OL position is an amazing opportunity for any student interested in gaining leadership skills and making a difference in the Niagara community.
As an Orientation Leader (OL), you must be loud, energetic, upbeat and positive.
You will lead groups of students throughout the week through various activities, campus tours, answering questions from students, and to direct them through the campus. You will help students with Goose Chase questions, finding workshops, handing out swag and provide students with information on how to succeed as a new student.
Building students’ confidence so they can be successful is a vital role for an OL. Give them a clear picture of their career opportunities with the programs they are taking. Present academic/study habits as professional workplace skills. Help students build a support network with meaningful relationships.
Show students the benefits of having an organized system to their schoolwork/help develop their self-management skills.
Remember...loud, upbeat, and positive!
