Payroll plays a vital role in any organization. It is a dynamic career that requires devotion, professionalism and accuracy.

Payroll professionals are in high demand by today’s employers. Obtaining your Payroll Practitioner Certificate will help ensure that you have a competitive edge over other candidates in the market place that are looking to work in the field of payroll.

In addition, once you complete the certificate requirements you will also have completed the academic requirements for the CPA’s Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.

Program Delivery

Individual courses are open to all students whether or not they are working toward the certificate.

Prerequisites may be required for these courses. Please refer to individual course descriptions for specific requirements.

Important Notes

The tuition fee payable to Niagara College for in-class courses CEHR1020; CEHR1030; CEHR1040 does not include the CPA material, exam and CPA membership fees.

Individuals registering for these in-class courses must register with both Niagara College and the CPA at least 2 weeks prior to the start date to receive the materials and textbook in time for the first class.

Certificate Benefits

Students can complete a certificate while earning credits towards their PCP designation and/or full-time diploma.

Obtaining Your Certificate (Application for Graduation)

Upon completion of all requirements, the student must complete an “Application For Graduation” form available from the Registrar’s Office.

If the student wishes to have their certificate presented to them at convocation ceremony in the Fall, there is a $25 fee.

Application, accompanied by fee (if applicable) must be forwarded to Registration and Records, Office of the Registrar before the application deadline.
