About This Certificate

This program will prepare you for a rewarding career which focuses on support for the administration of offices in the medical, chiropractic and dental fields.

You will develop strong office support skills with an emphasis on interpersonal, organizational, technological, and communication skills.

Graduates of the program will be prepared for standard operational procedures that are required for the successful operation of a medical office.

Program Delivery

Individual courses are open to all students whether or not they are working toward the certificate.

Prerequisites may be required for these courses. Please refer to individual course descriptions for specific requirements.

Important Note

Students have five years to complete this Certificate program.

New course numbers have been assigned to the following courses:

  • ADMN1154 (Medical Office Terminology) is now ADMN1407
  • ADMN1003 (Medical OHIP Billing) is now ADMN1400

Note - The above courses will be accepted toward completion of this certificate program.

Career Opportunities

This certificate prepares you for exciting work as a member of a healthcare team. Graduates may work in physician’s offices, dental offices, hospitals, walk-in clinics, long-term-care facilities, retirement homes, chiropractor’s offices and complementary health care clinics.

Obtaining Your Certificate (Application for Graduation)

Upon completion of all requirements, the student must complete an “Application For Graduation” form available from the Registrar’s Office.

If the student wishes to have their certificate presented to them at convocation ceremony in the Fall, there is a $25 fee.

Application, accompanied by fee (if applicable) must be forwarded to Registration and Records, Office of the Registrar before the application deadline.
