About This Certificate

Leadership Development Series (LDS) is a unique program that provides you with the knowledge necessary to enhance your supervisory skills and develop strong functional teams.

The series was designed to provide the learner with the fundamental knowledge and skills associated with the tasks and duties of individuals in management positions or leadership roles.


The program provides you with relevant and practical information needed to succeed in today’s business world.

It is intended specifically for individuals in a medium to large size organization who are:

  • Directors, Coordinators, and Team Leaders
  • Department, Plant and Office Managers
  • in a Management or Supervisory position
  • aspiring to a Supervisory position

The LDS program is based on the OMDP concept of hands-on learning and interaction; it represents a detailed review of current organizational needs that provides an updated approach to management development.

Ontario Community colleges, in close association with leading business and industrial professionals, develop and update course curriculum on an ongoing basis.

LDS courses are delivered by qualified professionals from the business community who bring a wealth of practical experience to the classroom.

Program Delivery

Individual courses are open to all students whether or not they are working toward the certificate.

Students have a total of 10 years in which to complete certification.

Prerequisites may be required for these courses. Please refer to individual course descriptions for specific requirements.

Certificate Benefits

This certificate will enable graduates to enhance their career development. They will acquire skills needed to help them succeed in today’s competitive marketplace.
 

Obtaining Your Certificate (Application for Graduation)

Upon completion of all requirements, the student must complete an “Application For Graduation” form available from the Registrar’s Office.

If the student wishes to have their certificate presented to them at convocation ceremony in the Fall, there is a $25 fee.

Application, accompanied by fee (if applicable) must be forwarded to Registration and Records, Office of the Registrar before the application deadline.
