About This Certificate

Adults and children with special needs deserve special care.

Local agencies recognize that Developmental Support Services graduates make great candidates when they are looking to hire professional, caring and inspired team members and are thrilled that we stress the importance of a solid education and the right attitude.

Program Delivery

Individual courses are open to all students whether or not they are working toward the certificate.

Prerequisites may be required for these courses. Please refer to individual course descriptions for specific requirements.

Important Notes

The Developmental Support Services Certificate Program is of interest to people who have graduated from college or university and wish to specialize in developmental services or who are currently working with persons with developmental disabilities.

Career Opportunities

Graduates can be employed by agencies to provide support services in educational and residential settings, leisure lifestyle and employment programs, and to individuals and families.

Certificate Benefits

Certificate will provide up-to-date and well-rounded training in the developmental services field.

As a specialty, the Developmental Support Services Certificate is helpful in advancing careers in developmental services.

Obtaining Your Certificate (Application for Graduation)

Upon completion of all requirements, the student must complete an “Application For Graduation” form available from the Registrar’s Office.

If the student wishes to have their certificate presented to them at convocation ceremony in the Fall, there is a $25 fee.

Application, accompanied by fee (if applicable) must be forwarded to Registration and Records, Office of the Registrar before the application deadline.
