About This Certificate

 Designed as a continuation of the Computer Software Applications Certificate, this certificate program provides you with an opportunity to further enhance your proficiency with various computer applications which are utilized in today’s workplace.

You will develop more advanced skills in word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation. Successful completion of the required five courses plus two electives allows you to further specialize your skills.

Program Delivery

Individual courses are open to all students whether or not they are working toward the certificate.

Prerequisites may be required for these courses. Please refer to individual course descriptions for specific requirements.

Important Notes

Courses in this broad-based certificate program can be transferred into other Niagara College certificate programs which will provide more specialization in your chosen area.

 The following courses have been removed from the certificate and replaced:

  • COMP 1500 (Excel – Level II) is replaced by COMP 1977 (Excel – Expert)
  • COMP 1505 (PowerPoint - Level II) is replaced by COMP 1976 (PowerPoint)

Note - The above courses will be accepted toward completion of this certificate program.

Obtaining Your Certificate (Application for Graduation)

Upon completion of all requirements, the student must complete an “Application For Graduation” form available from the Registrar’s Office.

If the student wishes to have their certificate presented to them at convocation ceremony in the Fall, there is a $25 fee.

Application, accompanied by fee (if applicable) must be forwarded to Registration and Records, Office of the Registrar before the application deadline.
