Sailing: Keelboat Cruising - Basic

Designed for boaters with little experience, or those who have completed the beginner’s sailing course offered through the Niagara College Sailing School, this course covers the contents of the C.Y.A. (Canadian Yachting Association) Basic Cruising Standard. Participants will take part in both theory and practical hands-on sessions, and will concentrate on basic sailing maneuvers, skills and safety with specific reference to the S-P-A-R-K Start, ‘Pleasure Craft Operator’ safety standards. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be awarded the C.Y.A. Basic Cruising Standard and logbook, and will be eligible to join the Niagara College Sailing Club.
