Child Care Centre The Niagara College Child Care Centre is part of the Ancillary Services Division and has been in operation since 1969. In August of 1995, the College opened a brand new facility with a licensed capacity of 85 spaces. The Child Care Centre is located on the west side of the campus across from the YMCA. The Child Care Centre playground faces the Children's Safety Village. The Child Care Centre accepts children from 3 months to 5 years of age on a full-day basis. A half-day program with lunch is provided for children who attend kindergarten as well as a "Before and After School Program" for children 6 to 12 years of age. The centre is licensed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services to ensure that all standards are maintained regarding staffing, premises, health, fire and safety regulations, equipment and programs. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The child care centre also supports the training and learning experience for students enrolled in the College’s Early Childhood Education program by providing an observation site and hands on experience for student placements. Fee subsidy is available through the Region of Niagara for families who demonstrate economic need. Families seeking subsidy must apply directly to the Region by calling 905-984-3750.
