About This Certificate

Landscaping is a fast-growing career field that offers individuals a variety of opportunities.

If you are interested in starting a business or career in landscaping, the Plant and Landscaping – Introduction certificate will provide you with the credentials necessary to verify your skill set in the area of plants and landscaping.

The certificate is designed to provide students with an introduction to the essential concepts and tools necessary to enter a wide range of careers in horticulture.

NOTE: The Plants and Landscaping, Introduction certificate is being phased out. Individuals working towards this certificate will have until December 31, 2011 to complete the certificate requirement.


Program Delivery

Individual courses are open to all students whether or not they are working toward the certificate.

Prerequisites may be required for these courses. Please refer to individual course descriptions for specific requirements.

This certificate prepares graduates for entry level positions in the area of horticulture and landscaping.

Students can complete a certificate while earning credits toward a full-time diploma.


Obtaining Your Certificate (Graduation)

Upon completion of all requirements, the student must complete an “application to graduate” form available from the Registrar’s Office. Students will be required to pay a $25 fee to attend the convocation ceremony in the fall.

The fee is payable with the “application to graduate” form. Applications and fees are to be returned to the Registrar’s Office. For more information, contact the Registrar’s Office.
