About This Certificate
This program prepares you for the challenging and rewarding career of providing clerical and administrative support for a hospital unit or health care institution.
You will develop office management and business communications skills for the healthcare environment, and acquire a thorough understanding and ability to interpret and relay medical terminology, medical conditions, pharmacology, surgical procedures, and medical tests.

Career Opportunities
This certificate prepares you for exciting work as a member of a healthcare team. Graduates may work in hospitals, long-term-care facilities, physician’s offices, community agencies, walk-in clinics, retirement homes, chiropractor’s offices, and complementary health care clinics.

The up-to-date curriculum includes training in rapidly changing technological skills such as software applications and in all aspects of standard operational procedures utilized in the modern medical institution, office, or clinic.
Obtaining Your Certificate (Graduation)
Upon completion of all requirements, the student must complete an “application to graduate” form available from the Registrar’s Office. Students will be required to pay a $25 fee to attend the convocation ceremony in the fall.
The fee is payable with the “application to graduate” form. Applications and fees are to be returned to the Registrar’s Office. For more information, contact the Registrar’s Office.
