About This Certificate
This certificate program has been developed with the support and co-operation of health care facilities for those employed in food service in a health care setting.
The Health Care Food Service program incorporates the mandatory MOHLTC Standards for Dietary Services throughout the program.
Program Delivery
Individual courses are open to all students whether or not they are working toward the certificate.

Career Opportunities
This certificate prepares individuals to work in the dietary departments of hospitals, long-term-care facilities, retirement homes, group homes, and other healthcare settings. The current MOHLTC Standards for Dietary Services are incorporated throughout all of the courses in the program.

Certificate Benefits
This certificate is mandated by the Ontario government and students must complete it if they wish to gain employment in the dietary departments of hospitals, long-term-care facilities, retirement homes, group homes, and other health care settings.
Both graduates and their healthcare employers will benefit from a standardized and recognized program.
Obtaining Your Certificate (Graduation)
Upon completion of all requirements, the student must complete an “application to graduate” form available from the Registrar’s Office. Students will be required to pay a $25 fee to attend the convocation ceremony in the fall.
The fee is payable with the “application to graduate” form. Applications and fees are to be returned to the Registrar’s Office. For more information, contact the Registrar’s Office.
