About This Certificate
This certificate program provides you with an opportunity to develop proficiency with various computer applications which are utilized in today’s workplace. You will develop skills in word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation. Successful completion of the required six courses plus an elective allows you to further specialize your skills.

Individual courses are open to all students whether or not they are working toward the certificate.
Prerequisites may be required for these courses. Please refer to individual course descriptions for specific requirements.
Important Notes
Those students who have successfully completed COMP 1416, CAPL 1199, or CAPL 1198 do not have to take COMP 1973.
Courses in this broad-based certificate program can be transferred into other Niagara College certificate programs which will provide more specialization in the student’s chosen area.
Note:
COMP 1973 is the NEW required Computer Applications course for this Certificate program.

Some of the courses in this certificate are offered in class and all courses are offered online. This online version of this certificate offers students the convenience, freedom, and spontaneity of working at a time and place of their own choosing.
The up-to-date curriculum includes training in rapidly changing technological skills such as software applications and presentation skills. Depending upon the chosen elective, you can venture into an ever-expanding array of new career possibilities.
This certificate builds a sound foundation for further course and certificate selection leading to more career opportunities.
Obtaining Your Certificate (Graduation)
Upon completion of all requirements, the student must complete an “application to graduate” form available from the Registrar’s Office. Students will be required to pay a $25 fee to attend the convocation ceremony in the fall.
The fee is payable with the “application to graduate” form. Applications and fees are to be returned to the Registrar’s Office. For more information, contact the Registrar’s Office.
