Entrepreneurship Challenge Competition

This year the School of Business was invited to participate in the 2nd Annual Entrepreneurship Challenge presented by the School of Business, Hospitality and Environment.

8 student teams representing 6 different programs including: Bachelor of Business Hospitality, Event Management, Golf Management, Hospitality & Tourism, Sales and Marketing and Sports Management competed in this business pitch competition.  Each team had 15 minutes to deliver a convincing presentation of their research and business strategy for a new business idea to a panel of industry experts. Two student teams from the Sales and Marketing program were selected to compete at this exciting event that took place on April 20, 2017

I am happy to report that the 2 teams from Sales and Marketing performed exceptionally, winning 1st and 3rd place in the competition. Congratulations to the 1st place team made up of students from Term 1 of the Sales and Marketing Program: Kiersten Gates, Ece Nur Pehlivanoglu, Ana Bilek and Firas El Zein.  The 3rd Place Team was also made up of Term 1 students from Sales and Marketing and included: David Jones, Rico Dean, Vitor Baradel and Nicholas Leduc.

The winning group won $750 and the 3rd place team received $250. In addition, all of the final teams will have an opportunity to work with NC Takeoff to help bring their idea to fruition. Way to go Sales and Marketing students!
