What’s open/closed at Niagara College for Civic Holiday Aug. 7 – Teaching Winery and Brewery remain open

Niagara College wishes you a safe and enjoyable Civic Holiday weekend. The College is closed Monday, August 7 due to the Civic Holiday. During that time, there will be limited access to campus facilities. The NC Teaching Brewery and the Wine Visitor + Education Centre retail stores  and Employment and Training Solutions will remain open.

Students who need to access classrooms or labs at both the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake Campuses will require faculty authorization and must sign-in with Campus Safety (security).

Holiday hours for key College services and facilities are listed below:

The NC Teaching Brewery and the Wine Visitor + Education Centre retail stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

NC Library services will not be available. Online library access is available 24/7 at

The NC Greenhouse will be closed.

Athletics and Recreation at the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake Campuses is closed.

NC’s SAC office on Niagara-On-The-Lake will be closed from August 4- 7.

The Welland SAC office will be open 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. August 4, and closed on August 7.

Niagara College’s Employment and Training Solutions offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Benchmark will be open August 4 for lunch and dinner and will be closed August 5- 7.

Bench To Go will be open August 4 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will be closed August 6-7.

Bookstores will be closed at both campuses on August 7 and will reopen August 8.

Foodservices at the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses will be closed August 7.


Temporary Road Closure – Welland Campus (Jan. 27)

Sections of Chippawayan Boulevard and North Road, which connect the east and west portions of the Welland Campus, will be temporarily closed on Wednesday, Jan. 27 to facilitate the delivery and installation of the HVAC Unit for the Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre. The closure will be in affect from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. This closure will not affect parking or access to any Niagara College facilities, including the technology compound, but it will temporarily close the connection between the east and west sides of campus. During this time access to the east side of campus (Athletic Centre, visitor parking, Applied Health Institute) is via First Avenue and Ring Road only. Access to the west side of campus (YMCA, Children’s Safety Village, Rankin Technology Centre) is via Woodlawn Road or Rice Road only.
