Niagara College’s annual Tall Ship Cruises aboard the Empire Sandy are set to sail this June marking 32 years of tradition.
Hosted by the College’s Part-Time Studies department on June 10 and 11, the sailings include a Tall Ship Twilight Dinner Cruise and a daytime Tall Ship Cruise Through History that are open to the public.
The Tall Ship Twilight Dinner Cruise will set sail from Port Dalhousie on Friday, June 10 at 7:30 p.m. offering a quaint evening on Lake Ontario from dusk until 11 p.m. Guests aboard will enjoy a variety of appetizers, a full-course dinner, dessert and coffee or tea with live entertainment by the blues group The Midnight Shift. A cash bar will be available for guests 19 and older. The cost for the cruise is $79.
Professor Wesley Turner, Niagara historian and author, will lead the daytime Cruise Through History in the waters of western Lake Ontario and the lower Niagara River on Saturday, June 11 which will recount the historic episodes leading up to, during and following the War of 1812. This historical journey embarks from Port Dalhousie at 10:30 a.m. and will include a continental breakfast, a full-course dinner, dessert and coffee or tea. The cost for the cruise is $98.
