Niagara College’s popular Niagara Kids’ College program is set to provide another year of creative and innovative programming for local youth.The 2014 Niagara Kids’ College lineup will feature new and unique programming courtesy of recent partnerships with In The Orchard and Scientists in School
“These partnerships represent a fantastic opportunity for Niagara Kids’ College” said Matthew Davies Niagara College’s director of athletics and recreation. “In the Orchard and Scientists in School offer unique and innovative programming that supports our goal of providing a broad range of experiences that promote the development of healthy minds and bodies.”
Based in Fonthill In The Orchard is a Niagara Region community development organization dedicated to the promotion of art and art-based programming. The organization will provide two weeks of Niagara Kids’ College programming including Paint Big and Fundamentals of Sculpture and Fashion & Bling.
“We’re very pleased to offer our popular and growing art camps to kids that live across the Niagara Region” said In The Orchard founder Angie Geiss. “Facilities such as the painting studio at Niagara College will provide a truly artistic experience for our budding young artists.”
Scientists in School is a registered Canada-wide charity that strives to see that every Canadian child is actively engaged in the seeing doing and understanding of science. Scientists in School will provide the ‘Scientists in Summer’ component of Niagara Kids’ College. The camps will feature a healthy mind healthy body prospective that includes a half-day of science and a half-day of recreation/physical activity programming.

Our award-winning inquiry-based workshops allow kids to become scientists using specialized equipment and materials under the guidance of real science experts” said Michelle Butler Scientists in School regional coordinator of South Central Ontario.
